If you’re considering vacationing in Guam this year, but you don’t know where to stay in the CNMI, how about the Guam resort on Cocos Island? The small island, just one mile south of the southern tip of Guam is a haven for both tourists excited to explore the uninhabited landscape and locals who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Tinian and Rota. Learn more about Cocos Island here, and check out other Guam activities, such as beach combing or dining.

Getting to Cocos Island

If a day on a remote beach basking in the tropical sun sounds good to you, then head over to the Merizo Pier and take the short ferry ride to the island. Rates vary depending on age and residency:

  • $40.00 non-resident adults
  • $25.00 resident adults
  • $20.00 children

Admission comes with a cafeteria-style lunch and tea or water.

What to Do On Cocos Island

Cocos Island offers visitors plenty to see and do, including swimming in the ocean or resort pool, bird watching, dolphin watching, or sunbathing for those who just want to relax and take in the fresh air.

For visitors who want a more athletic activity, the resort offers parasailing, diving, kayaking, jet skiing, bikes, and volleyball, so you can get out and stay active while visiting.

Of course, there is also plenty of ways to dine, including an ice cream parlor, restaurant, and bar for those who would like to imbibe a little while on holiday.

You don’t even have to pack your heavy beach gear, the island resort offers chairs, beach towels, and other useful equipment for rent for a small fee, allowing you to free up your hands to carry souvenirs on the ferry ride home.

If you’d like to make a day of it and get the most for your vacation dollars, call ahead and ask about the packages that include meals, entry to the SandCastle dinner show, a beachside BBQ, and time at the resort spa.
